The Elements History class recently welcomed Art History students from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) to our class. They presented an impressive virtual reality (VR) project, transporting our students to the House of Serenos—a richly decorated, late antique villa in Amheida (ancient Trimithis), located in Egypt's Dakhla Oasis. Our students virtually explored this historical site, engaging in a captivating treasure hunt as a class. This interactive experience offered a unique and memorable way to connect with ancient history and also introduced them to disciplines of archaeology, technology and art history. Special thanks to the HKU Humanities Department for sharing their innovative project and providing such an enriching educational experience.
