ISPTA Lunar New Year Celebrations
The ISPTA community came together again to usher in the Year of the Snake and share good fortune with our school and community. The celebrations included parent-donated snack sales on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22, featuring a scrumptious array of Chinese, Indonesian and Korean treats.
ISPTA Walkathon & Staff Appreciation Lunch
On Friday, January 17th, was the first time our parent volunteers joined Y7 & Y8 teachers on their walk to Bowen Road. This event is part of Island School’s initiative where all students and teachers walk at various locations to raise funds for local Hong Kong students pursuing secondary education. Each year, the Island School Trust allocates 60-80 bursaries to partner schools, with principals selecting students who show academic dedication despite facing personal hardships. This year, ISPTA collaborated with parent volunteers to help manage the walk and support this important cause. Thank you to all the parent volunteers for their contributions!
ISPTA Initiative: LG04 Playground Space Enhancement
From the proceeds of the Winter Fair 2023, Island School PTA funded the enhancement of the playground space at LG03. This will be a more functional space for Island School’s younger students of Year 7 & Year 8 to utilise for lunch and play.
ISPTA Welcomes New Principal
ISPTA welcomed our new principal Ms Nina Gunson by organizing two coffee mornings on Friday, January 10 for Year 7-9 parents and Tuesday, January 14 for Year 10-13 parents.
