On Friday, 17 April 2026, the Island School Parent Teacher Association (ISPTA) proudly hosted its second Staff Appreciation Banquet, dedicated to celebrating Island School’s teaching, support, and site staff.
Originally planned as a lunch, the event beautifully evolved into a full banquet, with the school Sports Hall transformed into a welcoming dining space. The thoughtful setup and organisation were made possible by ISPTA committee members and many dedicated parent volunteers.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our School Staff
This banquet was a meaningful way for parents to express their gratitude to the incredible staff who support our children every day — in classrooms, offices, and across the campus. From those working directly with students to those supporting behind the scenes, each staff member plays a vital role in our school community. A parent captured our gratitude for members of staff with this heartfelt message:
Thank you for loving our children as your own.
Thank you for your patience and warmth, which make the classroom a second home for them.
Thank you for always supporting us, the parents. Your advice and open communication have given us strength. You help our children grow, and in doing so, you empower our whole family. Every bit of your hard work is seen and remembered.
Thank you to all the teachers and staff for your daily dedication, and to the team behind today’s wonderful event.
A special thank you to all the site and supporting staff, also and parent volunteers. You made today run so smoothly.

A Feast of Global Flavours
The Island School parent community came together to contribute an impressive spread of dishes, representing a rich mix of cultures and cuisines. The banquet featured:
- Korean, Chinese, Indian, Filipino, and Japanese dishes
- Fresh fruit platters and appetisers
- A variety of desserts, including a beautiful chocolate cake reading “Thank you to our amazing teachers”
The diversity and generosity on display truly reflected the spirit of our international school community.
A Relaxed and Joyful Celebration
Staff members enjoyed a relaxed meal with colleagues, served by parent volunteers, with music playing in the background. The atmosphere was warm, celebratory, and well-deserved — a pause to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our school staff.
