The Island School Winter Fair made a joyful return on Friday, 23 January, filling the campus with warmth, excitement, and togetherness. Although the event had been rescheduled following the tragic Tai Po fires, the Island School community came together with even greater enthusiasm, demonstrating resilience and the vibrant spirit that defines our school.
The evening was alive with energy, thanks to an incredible lineup of student performances. Talented musicians and singers from Island School—and our younger stars from Beacon Hill School—lit up the stage with impressive bands, vocals, and heartfelt performances. Their dedication and talent were truly inspiring.
Adding to the fun, all six houses hosted creative game stalls offering fantastic prizes—always a highlight for students young and old. And yes, the ever‑popular giant plushies once again stole the show!
Food lovers were spoiled for choice with hearty parent‑run cultural food stalls, a delicious baked‑goods spread, and mouthwatering offerings from vendors including Steak King, Haidilao, and Taiwanese bubble‑tea specialists.
The fair also featured a bustling shopping lane with something for everyone—Lunar New Year–themed plushies, Island School tote bags, gently used books and uniforms, high‑quality kitchenware, and a delightful selection of vendor goods ranging from organic skincare to vibrant handbags, jewellery, toys, and more.
The funds from the Winter Fair will be dedicated towards projects and initiatives to enhance Island school students’ experiences in meaningful ways. Keeping with tradition, the Silent Auction raised valuable funds for the Island School Trust. This year, a charming new addition—the Island School teddy bears—captured many hearts.
The Winter Fair once again proved to be a powerful celebration of the Island School community. A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated PTA Committee, students, staff, and parents who poured their time, energy, and creativity into making the night a memorable one. Special appreciation goes to our site staff, who spend months planning this event, and to all parents who contributed to the cultural food, baked goods stalls, and volunteered throughout the evening.
What a night. What a community. What a fair!
