STEM X Exhibition

Island School STEM X Expo took place at the end of term 1 during which Year 7 and 8 students together with their Year 12 CAS mentors presented their STEM-based research projects. Students explored the science behind Hydrogen Face Masks, Surface Tension and Melting Ice, and the mystery science of Lava lamps.

Their presentations were the culmination of an entire term’s focus on understanding STEM-based concepts to a greater extent and the development of the scientific process – hypothesising, predicting, testing and analysing, and concluding. STEM  X Club is an extracurricular activity run by Year 12 students as part of the Island School CAS programme, for junior students, supported by Chemistry Teacher, Miss Harte.
