WANBO is back with the annual Redress Week starting on Monday, March 17th. We collaborate with the NGO every year to disrupt the fashion industry's unsustainable linear ‘take, make, and waste’ framework to speed up the change to a circular fashion industry.
In Hong Kong, 170 tonnes of clothing are sent to the landfill, daily. NGO is a Hong Kong based charitable organisation which focus on promoting sustainable fashion. Their programs targets on brands, manufacturers, schools and the recycling of clothing. While their impact is global, they emphasize Asia due to its role as the largest producer and consumer of textiles and apparel.
How and where to donate?
You can place your collected clothing items in the boxes place outside of your house office. Make sure to place them nicely in the boxes with clean and washed clothes.
Please be mindful not to donate torn and damaged clothes. Uniforms and personal items like underwear, socks, gloves and shoes will not be allowed.
This is an inter-houe event, 1 house point will be given for each piece of clothing donated. You can support Redress and reduce the amount of clothes waste and consumption by making purchases and donations.
Join us in the courtyard for the Charity Bazaar on the 20th of March. Prices will rang between 5-20 HKD. The leftover clothing will be donated to Redress!
By supporting Island School in taking an environmentally friendly approach to fashion, Wanbo aims to make the fashion industry more sustainable through Redress. We hope to see you there are the Bazar!
