Y13 Students Engage in University Survival Skills
Last week, on November 21, Y13 students participated in a University Survival Skills unit as part of their Thrive programme. This initiative aims to prepare them for independence after leaving home. Activities included cooking a stir fry, learning basic first aid, and competing in the Housekeeping Olympics!
Precious Plastics Update
We’re so excited to announce that since September, we’ve collected over 20,000 bottle caps! Thank you to everyone who enthusiastically donated their bottle caps, and to our team for tirelessly sorting as well as counting them all. Results for the first round of the Inter-house will be announced in an upcoming assembly, so stay tuned as they’re coming very soon.
Piya and Koemi Achieve Runners-Up in ESF Psychology Competition
On November 1st, eight IBDP Psychology students participated in the ESF Psychology Competition. They collaborated with students from various schools to create a short video addressing a school-related issue and exploring how psychological research could help solve it.
Diwali Celebrations at Island School 2024
This week, we celebrated Diwali with a vibrant array of activities! Students enjoyed decorating diyas, creating beautiful designs at the henna station, and indulging in tasty treats from the PTA snack sale. Staff, students and parents came together for a lively dance, while our APC offered a special Diwali menu. The festivities culminated in a joyful assembly, bringing everyone together to honour this festival of lights. Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous Diwali!
