Last week, in celebration of International Women’s Day, the Girl’s Rising Group, supported by Ms. Coull, organised a series of engaging activities to honour and empower women. A standout event was a TED Talk-style presentation held on Wednesday, March 5th, during lunchtime. The session featured four inspiring Island School staff members—Ms. Teri Eves, Ms. Vivian Wong, Ms. Saya Kawano, and Principal Mrs. Gunson—who shared their personal stories, challenges, and achievements. Through their powerful narratives, they not only showcased the impact they’ve made as women in their fields but also inspired students to reflect on resilience, leadership, and the importance of empowerment.
