Chloe Wong (12D) was honoured as Runner-Up at the prestigious Peter Cane Legal Reasoning Prize Giving Day on March 18, 2025 at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Her outstanding legal analysis stood out among 146 international submissions. Her entry, which analysed the frustration of contracts, was praised by the judges for its compelling argumentation and exceptional clarity—qualities that distinguished her work in this competitive academic field.
Beyond the awards ceremony, Chloe enriched her Oxford experience by attending a special session at the Oxford Law Faculty and participated in an Environmental Law workshop at Corpus Christi College.
Chloe reflected on her recent submission, stating, “My submission for the Prize was driven by my passion for law: writing the essay involved in-depth research on The Law Reform (Frustrated Contracts) Act 1943 and critically analyzing its application to a hypothetical case, merits, and limitations. On the Prize Giving Day, I felt truly inspired by the debates and discussions with leading scholars at the University of Oxford and fellow students. The academic discourse enriched my understanding of legal reasoning and provided invaluable insight into reading law at university. I am excitedly anticipating further research and learning beyond my secondary school studies!”
Congratulations, Chloe, on your remarkable achievement!
