On Sunday April 19, the the Social Action Committee hosted our annual Helper’s Appreciation Day and the atmosphere at Island School was nothing short of electric this week. It was a day designed to give back to those who assist us every day. We kicked off with icebreakers of a game of Pictionary that brought immense laughter followed by bracelet-making and a nail polish workshop. After a high intensity game of dodgeball and basketball showcasing incredible sportsmanship, karaoke from all the helpers (and poorly sung ones from our committee) stole the show, providing an exceptional end to the event. Amidst this lively buzz, we indulged in a variety of confectionaries, cookies, pizzas, and chips. The event was a very powerful reminder that our helpers are the heart of our school, and we cannot wait to host them again next year.
