Year 9 STEM Day
On Wednesday May 14th, all of our Y9 students were involved in STEM Day. Groups were tasked with building a robot to carry out liver surgery. The day began with some initial design ideas as groups decided on how best to build a robot capable of making a surgical incision. Students were also tested on their maths and biology skills via some short quizzes. Challenges built up throughout the day from simply popping a balloon to eventually trying to remove a piece of diseased tissue from their liver sample. Hopefully this experience will encourage some of our students to consider an all-important STEM career in the future.
