On May 26th, we gathered to honour our Year 13 students at the Graduation and Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2026. The afternoon was filled with pride and celebration as we recognised outstanding achievements through awards including the Islander Award, Strive Award, Principal’s Award, and special honours such as the Dai Chem STEM Award, Excellence in Sports Award, Exceptional Creativity Award, and Alumni Leadership Award.
We were privileged to welcome alumnus and Olympic swimmer, Hannah Wilson (Class of 2007), as our guest speaker. As she presented the Alumni Leadership Award, Hannah shared her personal journey—her struggles academically while balancing swimming at Island School, and her deep gratitude for the school and the support from her teachers. She encouraged our students to pursue their dreams and become the best version of themselves.
The ceremony’s emotional highlight was the performance of “How Can I Bear to Let You Go” by Jacky Cheung, presented by The Amoures. This powerful piece captured the feelings of having to let go of something or someone very dear and meaningful.

Following the graduation ceremony, the ISPTA hosted a wonderful reception where students, families, and staff celebrated together, enjoyed delicious food, and took memorable photos.
Congratulations to our extraordinary Class of 2026! You have left an indelible mark on our school community, and you will all be deeply missed.
