On June 3, the Year 12 Global Politics students stepped into the heart of Hong Kong’s legislative framework with an insightful visit to the Legislative Council (LegCo).
The cohort began with a guided tour of the complex, tracing the council's history and functions. The experience deepened during an exclusive Q&A session with a sitting LegCo Member, where students asked sharp questions about policymaking and local representation. Afterward, the group observed a live council meeting from the gallery, witnessing firsthand the mechanics of political debate and official accountability.
Crucially, seeing these policy debates unfold in real time sparked immediate inspiration for the students' upcoming Global Politics Engagement Project. Observing real-world advocacy up close gave them concrete ideas for their own research and community actions.
