Gecko Maths Competition
The Gecko Maths finals took place yesterday, March 6th, featuring 12 teams from Year 7, along with two teams each from Glenealy, the Peak, and Beacon Hill. All teams collaborated well and enjoyed the challenges of the tournament, making it a great success.
Elements and Garden Gang Continues to Support Lantau Conservation Project
This Spring term Island School students have been continuing to support the ecological landscape restoration project on South Lantau through our resident horticultural expert Paul Melsom, who helps support student practical learning on Wednesdays in Elements Urban Survival and the CAS Garden Gang Activity.
ESF History Quiz at KGV
The first ever ESF History Quiz was hosted at King George V School on 25th February, bringing together history enthusiasts from various ESF schools. Team 1 included Noelani Pollard, Christine DaSilva, Giovanni Lucchini, Cyrus Ng, and Anais Lambert, while Team 2 featured Tim Wang, Anabelle Lee, Natasha Lam, Enya Hui, and myself, Chloe Wong.
Year 7 Scientists Explore Acid and Alkali Reactions
Our Year 7 Scientists have been working hard in the laboratories with Mrs. Wightman and Ms. Sutcliffe. In the MYP topic of 'Chemical Reactions', the students have been experimenting with different indicators and everyday acids and alkalis. They even managed to produce their house colours while noting the colour changes. The students worked safely and carefully to achieve some stunning results.
