The Performance Space

10 metre horizontal stage and seating for 300 people.
Well equipped with professional sound and lighting systems, perfect for assemblies, concerts, musicals, drama production, and other large major events.
Retractable seating allowing for large scale group activities and examinations.

Rooftop Playground

Two playgrounds on the roof of the building are available for different use.
Playground 1 is suitable for netball and basketball practice.
Playground 2 is suitable for multisport and team building practice.

Sports Hall

The Sports Hall is the school's largest space, and boast a new sprung floor marked for: basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton matches and practices.
It can be divided into two so different activites and sports can happen simultaneously.
It can also be used as a lecture theatre or a standing reception for 1200 people. Audio and visual can also be arranged.
Retractable seating allowing for large scale group activities and examinations.

Cars

As part of ESF Island Schools commitment to sustainability and our ongoing effort to reduce the local impact of our operations, we have implemented a mandatory no private-car use policy.

This means that no private cars are allowed to be used for drop-off or pick-up of students.

Public transport

From Central

Green Minibus: 9 - Exchange Square <–> Borrett Road, Island School. The bus runs every 10-20 minutes and there are long lines during peak times.

Walking

If walking to Borrett Road, the only access on foot is via the Bowen Road staircase, as there are no pavements on the lower parts of Borrett Road. There are walkways down to Kennedy Road from Bowen Road.

If you are considering walking to school the PTA pro tip is to practise the route before term starts.
