Educational Outcomes
At Island School, we recognise that educational outcomes are of paramount importance and we appreciate that a numerical grade tells only part of the story. As a result, we prioritise the creation of a nurturing school environment that not only promotes academic excellence but also the development of global competencies—skills that will empower our students for future success. Equally important is our commitment to nurturing upstanding, kind, and caring individuals who are motivated to make a lasting positive impact on the world.
While we believe a holistic education encompasses far more than exam results, they remain an important metric of our success. We are proud to share the following results, which offer a strong indication of the well-rounded education we provide at Island School.
IBDP and IBCP Results 23-24
This year two Island School students achieved the perfect score of 45 points, nine students achieved 44 points, and six students achieved 43 points. A total of 32 students in Hong Kong attained a perfect score in the International Baccalaureate (IB) exams up from 23 in 2023.
The mean number of IB points for Island School students is 37.2 and 38.2% of students at Island School achieved over 40 points. IB Coordinator, Lorraine Harte comments “Year on year our students outperform global averages and are driven to reach their full potential, often in the face of challenges. Strong academic and pastoral support from Island School staff is key to our students' success”.
Of the 17 students on the Applied Learning Path, 15 students passed the full IBCP taking 40 courses with 25 Distinctions, and 7 students achieved Distinction Star in all BTEC subjects.
