Inter-House Rowing
On Tuesday, September 30th this week, Island School hosted an exciting whole-school Inter-House Indoor Rowing event. Over 1,300 students participated, collectively rowing an impressive distance of 318 km —the equivalent distance of rowing to Maoming, southwestern part of China!
Fleming Charity Week
Fleming House came together this week for their annual charity during Sep 29- Oct 3. The House is supporting the Hong Kong Children’s Cancer Foundation. Activities included a bake sale, a Y7 and Y8 Relay, Y10 and Y11 Fun Relay and the famous annual sponge the teacher.
Year 7 Humanities Field Trip to Places of Worship
On the Fridays of September 19 and 26, our Year 7 students embarked on an enriching Humanities Field Trip, exploring the streets of Happy Valley and Wan Chai. This guided tour offered a unique glimpse into five diverse places of worship, providing insights and experiences that will deepen their understanding of beliefs about creation for their current unit of study.
IS Students Win Gold in HK Secondary Student Space Station Competition
A team of three Year 13 students: Shafay Khan (13W), Dev Goyani (13R), and Aden Honig (13W), have achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Special Gold Award in the highly competitive ‘Hong Kong Secondary Student Space Station Popular Science Payload and Science Experiment Design Challenge.’
Appreciation for Year 12 Wellbeing Activities
Thank you to the Year 12 students who led some exceptional wellbeing activities for the Year 8 students during the Thrive session.
